Our family has been active in the culture and lifestyle of Maui Hawaii for many generations. The importance of our local knowledge
and lifestyle heavily reflects on our success. One of our greatest strengths is having a strong background in real estate
developement. As a result, a strong working relationship in the community.
Originally Steven Nickens owned and operated one of Maui’s well-known interior design companies. For 18 years Steven
worked hand in hand with Maui’s leading contractors,developers, and people of influence in the community.
For the last 15 years Steven has persued selling Maui homes for sale . Holdiing a contractors license for over 18 years,
Steven has built three homes and two cottages. He knows the process in which to build on Maui properties. His involvement
with other projects consist of: Project manager for Spreklesville developements and working on the sales team in Wailea Maui
condos at Wailea Fairway Villas.
Aside from work Steven is a through and through waterman. Surfing since he was a young child, he continues to turn heads
when riding waves. Surfing, windsurfing, and snowboarding add to his Peter Pan syndrome of maintaining his youth. Steven
is also considered an avid gardener. He enjoys his orchard with mangos, citrus, avacados, bananas, and papayas. Steven
enjoys living and eating a healthy lifestyle. He is a firm believer in outdoor activity and loves to take on new challenges; kite
surfing seems to be the next on his check list.

Happily married to a local Hawaiian beauty, the Nickens ohana (family) consist of two boys and two girls (ages 21-31). The
oldest of the siblings, Micah has recently teamed up with Steven and thus creating the “NICKENS TEAM!” Micah works with Coldwell Banker in Paia.
After 10 years of professional surfing and business management, Micah realized that Maui real estate was in his blood. Originally
acquiring his license in real estate in Kahala, Oahu; Micah trained under the tutelage of the highly successful Myra Brandt,
owner of Kahala Associates. With two and a half years of luxury home sales, it was time to head back to Maui.
Surfing is more than a sport in the Nickens family; it’s a lifestyle. Micah was blessed with the ability to take surfing to other levels.
Being sponsored by major surf companies since he was a young child, Micah turned professional at age 18. Over his surfing
career, Micah gathered media coverage all over the world. Gracing magazine covers, articles (see Free Surf on lower left side of
site), advertisements, and primetime network TV coverage. Micah’s name is well known in the Maui community.
Aside from Maui real estate, Micah also negotiates and manages contracts for professional surfers, some as much as six figures.
He also manages DA KINE accessories premire international surf team. The team consist of some of the best surfers in the
world, Bruce and Andy Irons, Bobby Martinez, etc... His connection to the surfing industry runs deep. Working consistanly with
high officials from Hurley, Quiksilver, Volcom, Red Bull, etc... Once a year Micah has product sent from all major surf companies
to Maui for the “Nickens Team Learn To Surf Day” for underprivileged kids. They all leave with a back pack full of new clothes
and a huge smile. |
